Pathfinder is pleased to team up with The Equity Paradigm to present this workshop for the general public.
"There are vast social, economic, and political disparities plaguing our country that disproportionally impact communities of color. In addition to being disproportionally impacted by the wealth gap, incarceration, educational inequity, poor health outcomes, homelessness, etc., communities of color are underrepresented in spaces that have the decision-making power to impact outcomes in their communities.
The purpose of this Foundations in Racial Equity workshop is to provide the history of the construction of race, a key component in driving these inequities. This workshop helps participants understand why these inequities exist, so we can do something about it. We do so by interrogating the intricate relationship between race and institutional outcomes, developing shared language for how we discuss the issues and approach solutions. This workshop further challenges us to examine the ways in which we have interacted with race on an internalized, interpersonal, institutional, and systemic levels."
